Concerns Universe Foundation(CUF)
Concerns Universe Foundation (CUF) is a registered trust established in 2001 by Gnana Chitra and like-minded individuals who recognized the need for early childhood education in urban slums. CUF works with communities to empower, transform and elevate the lives of underserved children, youth, and women through education and vocational training initiatives.
Our interventions span three key verticals – Vocational Training, Child Development and Community Development Initiatives.
Vision
We believe in the inherent potential within every individual and envision a community where all are given the opportunity to achieve their educational, economic and social goals.
Our Mission
Concerns works with urban poor and provides opportunities for education through vocational training to enhance employability, improve economic status and promote the adoption of a healthy lifestyle
What We Do
Our programs use both asset-based and needs-based approaches, with community members acting as agents of change. We engage with our communities through three key programs:
Child Development Centre
We operate four Child Development Centres in Bangalore, supporting approximately 175 children annually. Our centres prepare children under 5 years for formal education.
Community College
Skill Training for Youth and Women
Our Community College offers vocational training to youth and women, enhancing employability and improving economic status. We have trained over 900 students so far, and most of them are employed in different sectors such as BPOs, preschools, beauty salons, tailoring units, and other NGOs
Community Initiatives
Our Community Initiative Program works towards improving the well-being of the community members by assisting community members to avail of government benefit cards and schemes.
Our Partners
Without whom it would be impossible to achieve our objectives
